20 YEAR CAREER IN THE MARKET: Jim seized the opportunity to enter institutional sales and marketing soon after he took his first job selling consumer investment products. This segue him into joining World Savings & Loan, where he jumped from the “sell” side of the business to the “buy” side, as member of their trading desk. As Jim climbed the ladder within the industry, his career trajectory continued to pick up steam. It wasn’t long before he accepted the position of Vice President of Asset Liability Management with Great Western Bank, Treasury, where he served as a Senior Hedging Specialist and pipeline and mortgage trader. He spearheaded new product development, traded with more than 15 Wall Street firms and managed a liquidity portfolio in excess of $7B. He helped originate over $5B of new products, including co-creating the LAMA mortgage index, prior to the acquisition of Great Western Bank by Washington Mutual. In 1999, he joined CUNA Mutual Mortgage Corporation as Assistant Vice President, Secondary Marketing, Risk Control Management; and moved on to the position of Vice President, Secondary Marketing for Lexington Lending in 2006.
